　　To the melodious strains of “The Song of Digestion,” the 19th National Conference on Gastrointestinal Diseases of the Chinese Medical Association officially commenced. The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Tuo Biguang from the Affiliated Hospital of Zunyi Medical University.

In addition, several international experts who have long supported the development of the Gastroenterology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association were also in attendance, including Professor Cihan Yurdaydin, President of the World Gastroenterology Organization, and Professor Jean-Francois Rey, President of the World Endoscopy Organization.
　　Professor Chen Minhu, Chair of the Congress, delivered a welcoming address and announced that the conference had received a total of 3,180 submitted papers and registered more than 6,000 physicians, both record highs in the history of the event. Over the three-day program, the congress featured an Academicians’ Forum, a Chairpersons’ Forum, and several international satellite sessions, with a total of 12 concurrent sessions.
