National Ministry-Level Project Approval: 2016 Qirui Pharmaceutical Undergraduate Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Project Guidelines

Summary: The 2016 Qirui Pharmaceutical Undergraduate Science and Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program is established to support the implementation of the Ministry of Education’s Undergraduate Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Initiative. Through project-based research and development grounded in biopharmaceutical technologies, the program aims to cultivate students’ innovation and entrepreneurship skills as well as their practical abilities, thereby enhancing their overall competence. The program is open to individual students or teams from universities majoring in pharmacy, biological sciences, biotechnology, bioindustry and bioengineering, as well as chemistry and related analytical disciplines. The funded innovation and entrepreneurship training projects cover six areas: pharmacology, pharmaceutical analysis, drug formulation, biofermentation, business management, and chemistry.

　　I. Construction Objectives
　　
　　The 2016 Qirui Pharmaceutical Undergraduate Science and Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program is established to support the implementation of the Ministry of Education’s Undergraduate Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Initiative. Through project-based research and development grounded in biopharmaceutical technologies, the program aims to cultivate students’ innovation and entrepreneurship skills as well as their practical abilities, thereby enhancing their overall competence. The program is open to individual students or teams from universities majoring in pharmacy, biological sciences, biotechnology, bioindustry and bioengineering, as well as chemistry and related analytical disciplines. The funded innovation and entrepreneurship training projects cover six areas: pharmacology, pharmaceutical analysis, dosage form development, biofermentation, business management, and chemistry.
　　
　　All innovation and entrepreneurship training projects will be aligned with relevant projects at Qirui Pharmaceutical.
　　
　　II. Application Requirements
　　
　　·This initiative is open to individual students or teams (with a maximum of five members) enrolled in full-time undergraduate programs in Pharmacy, Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, Bioindustry, Bioengineering, Business Administration, Chemistry, or related analytical disciplines. For team submissions, one primary project leader must be designated. Each submitted project must also designate at least one faculty advisor; however, the faculty advisor may not serve as the primary project leader.
　　
　　·The project duration, from approval to submission of results, is 1–2 years.
　　
　　·Applicants must remain enrolled students at the time of project completion. For projects with a one-year duration, if the project leader graduates after the one-year period, the applicant will not meet the eligibility requirements; for projects with a two-year duration, if the project leader graduates after the two-year period, the applicant will not meet the eligibility requirements.
　　
　　·Priority will be given to applications from schools that have previously received fewer resources; priority will also be given to applications from schools in the central and western regions.
　　
　　III. Construction Requirements
　　
　　·Complete the approved innovation and entrepreneurship training project on time and to the required quality. The specific deliverables for the project shall comply with the requirements set forth by the Ministry of Education for innovation and entrepreneurship training projects. Upon completion of the project, submit all required deliverables.
　　
　　· Qirui Pharmaceutical does not hold any intellectual property rights in the outcomes of the projects it develops; however, it enjoys priority rights to cooperation, investment, and reputation under equivalent conditions.
　　
　　IV. Support Measures
　　
　　2.4.1 Supported Quantity
　　
　　It is proposed to support 10 innovation and entrepreneurship training projects for college students, with a project duration of 1–2 years.
　　
　　2.4.2 Funding:
　　
　　Qirui Pharmaceutical will provide RMB 10,000 in funding for each approved project to support research and development.
　　
　　2.4.3 Supported Content
　　
　　Qirui Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. will provide the necessary support for approved projects. Throughout the project implementation period, the company will maintain two-way communication and exchange to facilitate the smooth execution of innovation and entrepreneurship training programs.
　　
　　2.4.4 Project Closure
　　
　　At the conclusion of the project, Qirui Pharmaceutical will invite experts to conduct acceptance reviews and provide feedback on the outcomes of the 10 innovation and entrepreneurship training projects. Outstanding projects will be separately recognized, with details of the rewards and recognition procedures to be announced separately.
　　
　　2.5 Application Procedures
　　
　　Applicants for the project shall complete the “2016 Qirui Pharmaceutical Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Project Application Form.”
　　
　　Applicants must, by June 15, 2016, convert the application form—stamped with the official seals of both the school and the college—into a PDF electronic document (no hard copy is required) and send it to:

　　Qirui Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. will organize a panel of experts to conduct the selection of submitted projects from July to September 2016 and subsequently announce the list of approved projects.
　　
　　Qirui Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. will sign a project approval agreement with the institution where the principal investigator of the approved innovation and entrepreneurship training project is based. The duration of each approved project shall be 1–2 years, and all work must be completed within 1–2 years following the signing of the project approval agreement. Upon submission of the final project report by the principal investigator, Qirui Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. will convene an expert panel to conduct project acceptance.
